Digital membership cards with status and validity
BMO Pass membership cards give a member a place to keep their membership details in Apple Wallet or Google Wallet. Your team can check the card’s status and validity rather than treating membership as a collection of stamps.
Make the membership easy to recognise
A membership is normally a relationship that lasts for a period of time. The useful information is who the member is, what membership they hold and whether it is current. Start with those details before adding offers or messages.
This can fit clubs and organisations where staff need to recognise a member on arrival. Decide which benefits belong to each membership and what happens when it expires. Explain those conditions when the customer joins, alongside your payment and renewal arrangements.
Keep the card close at hand
Customers use a joining link or QR code to open your programme and save a supported card to their wallet. They can then find it alongside their other wallet passes. Your staff portal supports everyday card management and a view of active and expiring memberships.
The portal can be added to a compatible phone or tablet’s home screen. Membership cards are included with Pro and Enterprise, together with your own branded staff app and bespoke card design. Your customer-facing card and staff workflow should use the same membership terminology.
Confirm access and renewal requirements
A membership wallet card is not a promise of compatibility with every door reader, booking platform or payment system. If you need automated access control or a particular renewal workflow, describe it during setup so compatibility can be confirmed.
If you sell a pack of six sessions rather than access for a term, consider a class pass. If you reward visits without selling membership, consider a stamp or points card. Choosing the card around the entitlement avoids confusing membership benefits with loyalty rewards.
Define what staff should check
Write down which membership details staff use at arrival and what they should do when a card has expired. A consistent check avoids one member being admitted under a different rule from another. Explain how a member contacts you about a renewal or an incorrect validity date.
If the membership carries several benefits, keep a clear description of those benefits alongside the joining information. The card is a convenient reference, while your membership terms explain the agreement. Review both when the offer changes.
