Digital stamp cards for repeat visits
BMO Pass digital stamp cards let customers collect progress towards a reward in Apple Wallet or Google Wallet. Your team records qualifying visits using a phone or tablet, so the card stays with the customer without another App Store download.
How a digital stamp card works
Choose the number of stamps and the reward before you invite customers to join. Share your joining link or put a QR code at the counter. A customer opens the link, joins your programme and saves a supported card to their wallet. Staff scan the card when a qualifying purchase or visit takes place.
When the customer reaches the reward, your team can check and redeem it through the staff portal. Make your qualifying rules clear: which purchases count, whether a minimum spend applies, and what the customer receives. A simple offer is easier for both customers and staff to explain.
Where stamps fit best
Stamp cards suit a repeat action customers can recognise: a coffee, a haircut or another eligible visit. They work particularly well when you want each qualifying visit to carry the same value. For a business where spending varies widely, a points card may be a better match.
For example, a café might choose a reward after a set number of qualifying drinks. A salon might count eligible appointments instead. These are programme examples, not promises of a particular increase in visits or revenue. Choose a reward you can afford to fulfil.
Your card and your staff workflow
Essentials includes ready-made card designs with your business details and the B-MO staff portal. Pro and Enterprise add bespoke card design and a staff app with your business branding. The staff portal can be added to a compatible device’s home screen.
A digital stamp card records loyalty activity; it is not a payment card or an automatic connection to every till. Discuss your existing workflow during setup so staff know when to scan, award and redeem.
Before your first customer joins
Write the qualifying purchase and reward next to the joining QR code. Run through an example with staff: a customer joins, makes a qualifying purchase, earns progress and later redeems. Decide how you will answer someone who cannot find their saved card, and who handles a correction if a visit was recorded incorrectly.
Keep any paper-to-digital change clear. Tell existing customers whether their old stamps can be recognised and how your business will check them. Agree that process before replacing the paper cards.
